  1. Good stuff. I tried all of that and it didn't work so I tried another different USB flash-drive, and it worked…. so my problem isn't my computers drivers. Two questions for you:
    1) Is there any way to "bypass" the operating systems "denial" of access to the USB flash-drive I'm having problems with — just long enough so I can access the files and transfer them to a different USB flash-drive through the 2nd USB port?
    2) Or, is there a way I can access the USB with some type of recovery software that I'm unaware of that you recommend and trust?
Thank you for any advice, I have some really important info on this flash-drive that I need to recover.

PS – It's really weird, because I just used the flash-drive last night with no issues … and this morning when I woke up it inexplicably stopped working … I'm suspicious that this wasn't just a random malfunction — if you get my drift.

  2. The problem with this error is it could stem from many different areas.
This video (and so many others) failed to fix my issue, although they had the right thought behind them and if you properly followed those fixes and still didn't get it fixed try this:
Update something called your ACPI drivers (advanced configuration and power interface):

Go to Start -> Search "Device Manager" -> Computer dropdown -> under that find "ACPI x64-based PC" (yours might have a slightly different name, not sure) -> right-click the ACPI x64-based PC -> Select Update Driver -> Search Automatically for updated driver software -> Restart computer.

If that doesn't work than you probably need to do what any of these other tutorials tell you. I'm sorry if you are still stuck after this, as it took me forever to just find this ACPI fix by myself with luck.

  3. this is the only one that worked thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im sooo haappppppyyy i was trying all day i recommend doing this for every usb

  4. for me I solved the problem by replacing the cable with a shorter one. initially I used a 10-foot cable that gave me the error message. I change for a 3-foot cable and now the computer recognizes it.
