In this video, we will explore What is Heuristic Technique
People often want to use approaches that are guaranteed to deliver specific outcomes, but that is not always possible.
Heuristic Technique is any approach to problem solving or selfdiscovery that employs a practical method that is not guaranteed to be optimal, perfect, or rational.
In situations where finding an optimal solution is impossible or impractical, heuristic methods can be used to speed up the process of finding a satisfactory solution.
Some of the techniques that can be used as heuristics include using trial and error, a rule of thumb or an educated guess.
These strategies depend on using readily accessible, though loosely applicable, information to control problemsolving in human beings, machines and abstract issues.
The most fundamental heuristic is trial and error, which can be used in pretty much every situation in your life.
Let’s say that you want to start a new diet to achieve your weight loss goal, but there are many different diets that you could follow.
If you read reviews then you will find that each one of them has some people who achieved great results while others who didn’t.
In other words, there is no way of comparing and finding the best diet that will work for you so the only option is to use trial and error.
So you pick the diet that you think would work and you stick with it for a few weeks and see how it goes and if it delivers the results that you expected.
Stereotyping is another Heuristic Technique that you can use. You might not make the best decision by using this approach, but you will be able to make a quick decision.
