Khlong Toei Market (also Klong Toey Market, Thai: คลองเตย) is Bangkok’s biggest fresh market. It is located on Rama IV Road near the Khlong Toei and Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre MRT stations in the Khlong Toei neighborhood. The market offers low prices on raw meat, seafood, farm produce, and a few other items (clothing, kitchenware, etc.) and is open daily from 6.00 am – 2.00 am. In January 2010 CNN listed it as one of the most authentic markets in Bangkok.\r

What is Loy Krathong? Krathong is a Thai term which refers to a piece of banana trunk decorated with flowers, banana leaves, candle and incense sticks. The word Loy means to float in the Thai language.
Loy Krathong (ลอยกระทง), also named Festival of Lights, is a famous floating lantern festival in Thailand. On the evening of Loy Krathong, Thai people gather together to release floating rafts called Krathongs onto rivers, lakes, and ponds to give thanks to the Goddess of Water and seek forgiveness from her. It is a Buddhist festival celebrated across the country, but it is not an official public holiday in Thailand.
This year 2021(2564), the annual Loy Krathong festival activities will be held throughout the Kingdom to preserve the Thai tradition, but under some restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid19.
Loi Krathong typically lasts three days in most places across Thailand, such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai. But some area like in Sukhothai, the celebrations go on for five days.
The Thai people usually start to do preparations and decorations one week or so in advance.
