Lang Lang Franz Liszt – La Campanella 2012.
Me : Mom i can play la campanella perfectly
Mom : but you didn't get an A in your math class
The piano had to smoke a cigarette after this performance.
his hands look like spiders, absolutely amazing
Here a long winded observation I made. The name “Lang Lang,” the thing about this name that a lot of English speakers might not realize is that those aren’t the same name, the first and second “Lang” are two different names, the only difference in pronunciation is one is pronounced in a bit higher pitch, they’re written the same in English because English isn’t a “tonal language” meaning that pitch doesn’t play a part in our language, it doesn’t matter if you say a word very deep or very high pitch, the meaning is the same. However, mandarin (Chinese) IS a tonal language, that’s why you can have a name like “Lang Lang,” because in China, the two “Lang’s” would be pronounced at different pitches and they are two separate names. Now imagine growing up as this guy, learning to pronounce your own name as a small child, you’re already learning the importance of small differences in pitch, which obviously translates very well to musicianship. This is also why you see that most of the people with perfect pitch are from China or some other place that speaks a tonal language.
I played La Campanella, but not like him, my fingers even tho can do part 1-4 and 8-end easily, it feels really hard. His fingers movement is just like butter.
holy shit the last 10 seconds he went all out, makes 5 minutes feel like 10. what a guy
Fantastisch 🙂
表情很欠揍,但是真的是天才啊!!!!!!!!!!
my pinky keeps bending north east south west thanks to me being double jointed and it rarely hits the right note
thank you, god
Lang Lang is just showing off here.

I’ve never seen someone do the finale (4:11) at full tempo with no mistakes, hopefully Lang Lang will achieve that at some point, because if anyone can do it, it’s him. This performance was the best ever recorded of La Campanella, I won’t even say that’s an opinion, I think it’s obviously a fact, even still, he mushed some notes in the finale, which is completely expected. I just hope I can hear him (or anyone) play it perfectly before I die, I’m not even concerned with the rest of the song, that was already satisfactory to my ear in this performance. I just want to see the finale perfected, because it’s such a genius finale that any mistake has a big impact, it really ruins the enjoyability. This is why you’ll see so many pianists compromise and cut the tempo down, but it loses all its impact then. It needs to be played at tempo with no mistakes to fully realize the sound, if you slow down or make mistakes, that all but ruins it. Clearly this is easier said than done, and I fully expect to never hear it in my lifetime, I’m just hoping I do.
3:47 just my personal replay button

You were practicing, but suddenly you remembered the time when you accidentally fell off in front of the class and everyone was laughing at you.

After playing for quite some time already and still playing beginner songs, this really discourages me.
And OBVIOUSLY he’s Asian.
