The Bay Glory is a giant cantilevered observation wheel located at Qianhai Bay, Shenzhen, China. It is operated by OCT and opened to the public on 18 April 2021.
The structure has an overall height of 128metre (420foot) and the wheel has a diameter of 113.3metre (372foot). It has 28 gondolas, each gondola has a net area of 16.8㎡ and can seat a maximum of 25 passengers. Passengers can see the scenery of Qianhai Bay and Pearl River estuary Lingdingyang from the gondola.
Honoring Shenzhen’s history as a regional market town, the master plan for Bao’an OCT OH BAY breathes new energy into China’s first economic zone.
Laguarda.Low Architects’ concept for the 128acre park is a representation of growth, joining commerce with worldclass cultural facilities. Located along with a threequartermile waterfront site, the program features four primary zones — East and West Waterfront Retail Park; Urban Business Center; and Waterfront Cultural Park. Woven throughout this collective of mixeduses is an ecological blanket – a flowing natural landscape that envelopes the site, connecting the zones via pedestrian paths.
The West Waterfront Retail Park includes entertainment venues, leisure facilities, and a performing arts center all emanating from an expansive openair plaza. Water serves as a key element of the scheme, separating various aquatic activities while allowing the public to explore the waterfront by boat. On the East bank, a fourstory experiential retail park is linked by gently sloping ramps, escalators, and bridges layered beneath an expansive green roof ribbon. The traditional shopping experience is transformed with an abundance of natural light and choreographed circulation.

Simulating a pedestrian crossing
This video demonstrates how to simulate a pedestrian crossing.
03:40 Since AnyLogic 8.7, areas have been substituted with nodes, and the PedAreaDescriptor block has become deprecated.
So, instead of the Polygonal Area, add the Polygonal Node from the Space Markup palette.
Name it \”crossingArea\”.
Expand its \”Speed and access restrictions\” properties, and select the \”Access restriction\” checkbox.
Set the \”Access restricted by\” option to \”call of close() function\”.
Do not add PedAreaDescriptor.
In the \”Actions\” properties of the TrafficLight block, type:
crossingArea.setOpen(currentPhaseIndex == 2);
instead of the line mentioned in the video.
Learn to use the Road Traffic Library to model traffic, and the Pedestrian Library to model pedestrians. And then learn how to make the vehicles and pedestrians interact.
