The value of these old Xeon systems is getting even better now. I bought the HUANANZHI X99 TF X99 Motherboard per your recommendation and it is a quality motherboard. The e5-2678 V3 CPUs are running around $82 USD shipped now, that's what I paid anyways. The big savings was $48 for 32GB RAM, $48! DDR4 for my Ryzen systems runs around $150 for 32GB today and the prices are going up. I got the motherboard, CPU, and RAM for less than what a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU alone is going for. I don't game, I need the cores for video editing so this is a good fit for me.

2699P v4 released in late 2017… is thee MOST powerful 14 nano meter Broad-well with 22 cores & its 44 threads as well as it's higher turbo (I think all core or at least most core) rating ….but with it's 300 watt TDP it is not for everyone and also nearly impossible to find but they do pop up once in a every "few" blue moons, they are RARE, very RARE but not quite "Unicorn-Status" but again with a EK AiO or custom cooler, it would be a SUPER x99 setup and still very relevant…. UNTIL WINDOWS STARTS TO DESTROY these has-well and broad-well CPU's with unnecessarily "updates" for protection as we ALL know the real reason is to just make something so powerful for its time, beating or tying even the newer-ish stuff, IRRELEVANT! Indirectly and sneakily! I wonder how much intel pays them to do this….. We need a LINUX distro very user friendly and secure (known enough) for the "fight" against this actual Intel/windows col-lab to destroy!… UNIX would be nice or even a Very-POWERFUL BSOD… Love Broadwell, not so sure has-well but they seem good as well, 22nm and below is a MUST! …..

Did you try disabling hyperthreading in the tests at all?

it can oc up to 3.4 ghz

1. How long will that used cpu ship from aliexpress last ?
2. Comparison between these used cpu and new ryzen system don’t show difference in price and performance.

When these die, you throw mainboard, ECC ram, may be PSU. – waste of money.
With ryzen you can upgrade to higher class w/o problem, throw nothing.

just bought one to add to my dell t5810 to upgrade from what im at now… will be nice to upgrade the cpu as i have 80gb ddr 4 ram, 4x256gb nvme and 10gb so why bother fully replacing the machine

I just bought one of these in 2021, to combine an old X5690 UNRAID server with a Ryzen 5 2600 gaming rig. I picked up a Huananzhi x99-TF to go with it, and some registered ecc ddr3 ram too. Hello guys, good morning. Wich xeon you recommend on the E5 series.

I have been running a E5-2695v3 for 3 years and I have not had any trouble playing games on max settings at 1080p or 1440p. I'm running an RTX 2070 right now. I have 256GB of PC2133r memory because it's cheap and I run a lot of VMs at times.

Is this cpu good for cpu mining
