I just repaired a gtx 1080 i got from a friend so thanks for the learnings i got from you. also jus curious what was the job of the inductor in this circuit
More motherboard videos please the motherboard in standing position would be nice to see like your explanation very correct and right to the point got many tips about voltages and how to diagnose
DO a bios update
What's the card in the memory slot at 8:50? Doesn't look like RAM because of the pins sticking out
Nice job and very appreciated, both would be an abundance of information as there is not too much of it on the interweb that is easy to find.
You have SPI connector near the BIOS . Meaning you can flash BIOS without power to the board itself, but by external PC using SPIPGM.EXE and homemade cable -google
It's nice seeing a repair that isn't common. Definitely would like to see more of these.
Also the orientation was a good idea cause you can see everything just fine
just repair everything what you can repair, it can be very useful for everybody
Nice Video . Good job
Yes please more motherboard repairs…great suggestion!!!!
the bios chip with the 1.8 volt is the soc?
Do an overhead camera for mobo repairs
Nice job, very helpful. I'm repairing a MSI Z390 MEG ACE, which is a beast and deserves to be brought back to life. I've got a question that you may be able to answer, and save this world the travesty of losing a high-end board…or at least offer a best-guess. I can get the board to power on by jumpering the 24-pin connector from the backside of the motherboard, meaning bridge pins 4 and 5 (same as paperclip method to test a psu…but while connected to the mobo). I have to do that because the power switch header is not working correctly. The board powers up correctly doing this header bypass trick and everything seems to work. I can even turn off the board by using the power header once I have 12V rails fired up. I'm fairly certain this is a 5V standby power issue as that is what drives the soft-start circuit…especially since the standby power LED won't light up either. My best guess is it's a transistor issue on the 5V rail. Maybe I'm getting current in one direction but not the other. Honestly, a lot of great boards fail this way. Some cheap 5V component goes out and a very expensive motherboard is tossed in the garbage. Any ideas?

More motherboard videos, more everything you're doing! Great content!
Im new to the channel and your videos are good. One thing i would suggest is giving the cost of everything you repair. As a viewer i thinks is something that somehow catches our attention for good. Keep it up mate!
Motherboard and GPU repairs are both entertaining and educational, so both are fine with me.
Nice video I will love to see more motherboard videos
good job! yes balance between gpu and mobo
Yes mobo vids too, i like both ,and watching primarily your vids ve repaire 2 gpus and I have at. Least 2 dead boards and stuff laying around, and thaaaanks for making these videos, I love learning, and good job, oh. And the orientation is fine.
Usually the pin number 8 on bios chip is vcc. Also you can take it out and program it with an eeprom programmer. I've 3 of them. But a chip CH341A will do fine for BIOS chips. And I suggest you to put an Inductor back in place because it will prevent of rush current going through.
Mobo repair is a nice content too, all knowledge is good!
Although it is not always obvious what you are stabbing with your meter, your enthusiasm is contagious.
Brilliant video. Yes pls make more motherboard repair videos. Thank you
Please more Motherboard Repair vids
The format is great. How did you know that you could put in a 0 ohm resistor instead of the inductor? If an inductor was installed in that spot, wouldn't the voltage be different on each pin? I am just asking as I want to learn and I don't know but was thinking that would be true. Thanks for the videos.
This video orientation is good!
Great work, good description of the steps you're taking very easy to follow! Thanks for the video, do make more! I've stacks of 'dead' motherboards and GPUs that I want to try and repair!
Please do both mobi and gpu. Could you also please show a process for installing some of the components on the PCBs
I had a strange issue with a Z490 Tomahawk where plugging in a USB cable into a PCIe USB card caused my PC to stop turning on. Tried powering it with Power SW but nothing happened (no PSU fan spin). Reckon it could be a similar issue to this?
Why do you use the probes to start the motherboards in your videos? Why not a starter switch? Just curious, great vids!
Great video! I would have to agree that any repair video would be extremely helpful. I did just have my water block spill into my rear template. Any possibility you could try your hand at water damage on a motherboard?
"Okay"… you have to make some merchandise with word "OKAY" Tech Cemetary 😀 when you will have more subs 😀 and dont rush explaining and do more on camera soldering not behind it. Soldering can be speed up but better do on camera
just finished watching this video, loved the diagnosis. the orientation is good! hd footage of clear diagnosis is already so good, even if you did a vertical orientation.
People don't care about the orientation that's way too specific we just wanna learn and maybe tell how you got where you are good vids keep it up. But the widescreen intuition is a great one.
Your videos are awesome. Is there any way how to fix this EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW? https://imgur.com/a/Kch2e14
I need your help, how can I contact you?
Another great video. I'm learning a lot of knowledge so please keep them coming.
We want more desktop motherboard repair !!! Thank you for sharing !!!
