Financial income advanced 10.5% to $13.74m from a year earlier.
Cambodia’s insurance industry recorded total gross premium of $90.56m in the second quarter of 2026, up 6.9% year-on-year (YoY), according to data from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia.
Life insurance gross premium rose 5.7% YoY to $50.72m. General insurance gross premium increased 8.5% YoY to $39.83m.
Total net premium earned across the industry rose 8.2% YoY to $68.86m. Life insurance net premium earned increased 7.7% YoY to $50.18m, whilst general insurance net premium earned rose 9.6% YoY to $18.67m.
Total gross claims incurred were broadly flat, down 0.1% YoY to $24.36m.
Life insurance claims rose 26.5% YoY to $9.08m, whilst general insurance claims fell 11.1% YoY to $15.28m.
Underwriting gain fell 7.5% YoY to $12.78m, from $13.82m in Q2 2025. Net operating expenses were largely unchanged, up 0.9% YoY to $48.70m.
Financial income rose 10.5% YoY to $13.74m.
The regulator’s data notes that the performance of micro-insurers is included in the general insurance market figures.
