Manulife’s Asia business sees profit soar 28% in Q2 2026

Annualised premium equivalent volume advanced 21% to $1.50b.

Manulife’s Asia business reported net income attributable to shareholders of $768m for the second quarter of the year (Q2 2026), up 28% from $600m a year earlier.

Core earnings increased by 21% to $616m, from $520m in the second quarter of 2025.

Annualised premium equivalent sales rose by 21% to $1.50b, compared with $1.23b a year earlier. 

New business contractual service margin increased by 17% to $561m, whilst new business value grew by 13% to $506m.

For the first half of 2026, net income attributable to shareholders rose by 17% to $1.20b, from $1.04b in the same period last year.

Year-to-date core earnings increased by 21% to $1.21b. Annualised premium equivalent sales reached $3.10b, up 15%, whilst new business contractual service margin rose by 16% to $1.15b.

New business value for the first half increased by 14% to $1.04b, from $908m a year earlier.
