New policy revenue reached $7.32b in the first 5 months of 2026.
Taiwan’s life insurers recorded a 54% increase in premium revenue from new foreign-currency denominated policies in the first five months of 2026, as demand for both investment-linked and traditional products increased.
Premium revenue from new foreign-currency policies reached about $7.32b (NT$233.5b) by the end of May, up from $4.8b (NT$151.4b) a year earlier, according to data released on 28 July 2026.
Investment-linked insurance products accounted for $1.43b (NT$45.604b), or about 20% of total sales.Â
This was more than double the $698m (NT$22.3b) recorded a year earlier, representing a 105% increase.
Traditional insurance products made up the remaining 80%, with premium revenue rising 45% to $5.9b (NT$187.9b) from $4.1b (NT$129.2b) a year earlier.
